Overgaden Neden Vandet
From the beginning, Christianshavn was laid out as a straight street grid inspired by the Dutch. The town was divided into an upper town (to the south) and a lower town (to the north).
That is why the streets along Christianshavns Canal were given their distinctive names: Overgaden Oven Vandet and Overgaden Neden Vandet.
