Overgaden Oven Vandet
From the outset, Christianshavn had a straight street grid inspired by the Dutch model. The city was divided into an upper town (to the south) and a lower town (to the north).
That is why the streets along Christianshavn Canal were given their distinctive names: Overgaden Oven Vandet and Overgaden Neden Vandet.
